The short version
- Your notes, voice memos, scans and attachments stay on your device. They are never sent to us.
- The app collects anonymous usage and crash data to help us fix bugs and improve the app. It isn't linked to your identity.
- No accounts, no ads, and we never sell your data.
This policy explains how Mini Notes: Sticky Home Widget for Android (“Mini Notes” or “the app”), developed by Mohini Sharma (“we”, “us”), handles information. It applies only to the Android app.
1. Your notes and content
Everything you create in Mini Notes stays on your device. That includes notes, checklists, voice memos, scans and attached images or files. We don't run servers that store your content, and we have no access to it.
If Android's device backup is switched on for your Google account, Android may include the app's data in that backup. Google handles that backup under your Google account and its terms. We cannot access it.
2. Information collected automatically
To understand how the app is used and to fix problems, the app uses third-party analytics and crash-reporting services. They may collect:
- Usage data: how you interact with the app, such as screens opened and features used.
- Diagnostics: crash logs and performance data.
- Technical details: device model, Android version, app version, and an identifier the analytics service creates for the app installation.
This data does not include the content of your notes. It is not linked to your name, email address or any account, and it is not used to track you across other apps or websites. We use it only for analytics, to find and fix bugs, and to improve the app.
3. Device permissions
The app asks for these permissions only to provide the features you use. Anything they capture stays on your device.
- Microphone: to record voice memos.
- Camera: to scan documents and take photos for your notes.
- Notifications: to show reminders you set.
- Photos and files: to let you add images or files to your notes.
You can turn off any permission at any time in your device's settings. Features that depend on it will stop working until you turn it back on.
4. How information is shared
We do not sell, rent or trade your information. The only data that leaves your device on its own is the anonymous usage and crash data described above. It goes to the analytics and crash-reporting service providers, who process it on our behalf.
If you choose to share a note, for example through Android's share menu, it is sent to the app or person you pick. Their use of it is governed by their own policies.
5. Data retention and deletion
Your notes stay on your device until you delete them. You can delete individual notes in the app, or remove all app data by uninstalling Mini Notes or clearing its storage in Android settings.
Usage and crash data are kept by the service providers for a limited period and then deleted. Because this data isn't linked to your identity, we can't look up or delete data about a specific person. If you have a request or question, contact us below.
6. Security
Your content is stored in the app's private storage on your device, which Android protects from other apps. Analytics and crash data are sent over encrypted connections.
7. Children
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, or under the minimum age in your country.
8. Changes to this policy
If we change how the app handles data, we'll update this page and the “Last updated” date above.
